PRIVACY POLICY FOR APE.I™ DIGITAL SCANNER
Effective Date: February 5, 2026 Developer: Ape.I Contact: support@Ape-I.com
Ape.I ("we," "us," or "the Developer") is built on a zero-knowledge architecture. This policy explains how we handle information within the Ape.I Digital Scanner mobile application to ensure your forensic data remains entirely under your control.
1. USER DATA & ON-DEVICE PROCESSING
Ape.I Digital Scanner is designed to perform image analysis and provenance verification entirely on your local hardware.
User Photos & Videos: When granted permission, the app accesses your media to perform scans. These files are NEVER uploaded, transmitted, or stored on our servers.
Local Analysis: All analysis and C2PA manifest decoding occur locally using on-device processing.
Privacy Assurance: All core features remain fully functional in Airplane Mode, providing physical proof that no media data is transmitted from the device.
2. C2PA & CONTENT PROVENANCE
The app implements the C2PA (Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity) standard to identify media origins.
Cryptographic Verification: Verification of hashes and digital signatures is performed on-device.
No Metadata Harvesting: Metadata extracted from C2PA manifests is displayed to the user but is not collected, indexed, or stored by the Developer.
3. THIRD-PARTY ANALYTICS
To maintain app stability and monitor subscription performance, we use Google Firebase Analytics.
Data Collected: Non-personal usage metrics (e.g., session duration, crash reports, and device model).
Identifiers: We use the IDFV (Identifier for Vendors) to understand usage trends. This is not linked to your real-world identity.
Purpose: To diagnose technical bugs and optimize the user experience.
4. DATA RETENTION & DELETION
Media Data: We retain 0% of your media data. The analysis exists only in your device's memory.
Analytics Data: Technical telemetry collected via Firebase is retained for 14 months and then automatically purged.
User Control: You may revoke Photo Library access at any time via iOS/Android system settings. Uninstalling the app removes all local app-related data.
5. CHILDREN’S PRIVACY (COPPA)
Ape.I does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children under the age of 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete that information from our records immediately.
6. GLOBAL PRIVACY RIGHTS (GDPR & CCPA)
Regardless of your location, we honor the following rights:
Right to Erasure: Because we do not store personal profiles or images, there is no server-side account record to delete.
Right to Restrict: You may opt-out of analytics by disabling "Share Analytics" in your device system settings.
California Privacy: We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising.
7. THIRD-PARTY AI DISCLOSURE
Ape.I uses the CoreML framework for on-device machine learning. We DO NOT share your images, videos, or forensic results with third-party cloud AI providers (such as OpenAI or Google Cloud). All intelligence is contained within the local app binary and processed on-device.
8. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this policy periodically. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy within the app and updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this document.
